The European Commission hosted talks Wednesday with Ukraine and international partners on Kyiv’s post-war reconstruction and economic development as part of efforts to secure a sustainable peace.
Delegations from Ukraine, Germany, France, UK, the US, as well as NATO and the World Bank met in Brussels to discuss post-war reconstruction and prosperity following recent meetings held in the city of Miami.
The meeting also aimed to "build on the prosperity framework developed earlier this year together with Ukraine and the United States," according to a statement from the Commission.
"The work today and going forward is focused on refining the scenarios for Ukraine's post-war economic development and prosperity. This includes identifying instruments and tools that can support Ukraine's future development and own efforts," it said.
The statement noted that the meeting underscored the significance of the "ambitious reform agenda" Ukraine was undertaking as part of its EU accession process.
"This reform agenda is a key driver for stability and is in turn boosting investor confidence, playing a significant role in attracting private capital and continued international support," it said.
It also reaffirmed the bloc's support for Ukraine, noting that the EU has provided €231.5 billion ($260 billion) since the start of its war with Russia.
"As the efforts to achieve a lasting peace for Ukraine continue, so too does the EU's support in strengthening Ukraine," the statement added.
