Türkiye's BIST 100 soars 2.5% at close

Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the day at 12,249.04 points on Thursday, up by 2.53%.

After starting the day at 12,026.26 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 301.86 points from the midweek's close.

The lowest value of the index was 11,936.19, while the daily high was 12,363.77.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 12 trillion Turkish liras ($245.4 billion), with a trading volume of 188 billion liras ($3.84 billion).

A total of 86 stocks on the index rose and 12 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $4,169.40 per ounce, and Brent crude futures traded for $101.5 as of 1645GMT.

While the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 49.0350, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 55.2390, and the British pound traded for 64.8700.
