Widespread power outages were reported across eastern Libya on Saturday, according to local media.
Libya Alahrar TV reported a widespread electricity outage in the eastern part of the country.
Separately, Libya’s General Electricity Company said its central emergency and reporting center had received around 8,000 reports of sudden power cuts and emergency faults since Saturday morning, according to the state-run Libyan News Agency (LANA).
The company said the vast majority of the reported faults had been addressed through coordination with specialized technical teams.
It added that emergency and maintenance teams were continuing efforts to repair faults and restore electricity supplies as quickly as possible.
The company did not immediately specify the cause of the outages.
