Ammunition depot explosion reported near Syrian capital, no casualties

An explosion at an ammunition depot in the Al-Dumayr area of the Damascus countryside Friday caused material damage but no casualties, a Syrian security source said Saturday.

“The explosion in the Al-Dumayr area of the Damascus countryside resulted from the blast of an ammunition depot containing remnants of the former regime that had been prepared for disposal,” the source told Syria Alikhbaria television.

The source added that the damage was limited to property.
